Messaging to support people receiving cognitive behavioural therapy.

Working with clinical psychologists at the Centre for Mood Disorders at the University of Exeter.

I've used a similar approach in several other mental health and wellbeing contexts, and it's proved very effective. Working with bibliotherapists is a good example.

Independently of my activity, the same approach has since been validated by research by Adrian Aguilera, Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, Berkley. Using messaging results in “increased mood state awareness and feeling like someone cares about them... people feel like they are coming from their therapist and thus this seems to provide perceived support to the patients."
